First dig since Albania, so I was as keen as a starved labrador to get digging tonight. I was even more excited when I turned up to meet Chris at the layby that Hal was also there. We celebrated with doughnuts and Lagavulin (cos Hal is a real man) then completed the Kessel Run along the A6 with only a few near collisions.

Chris went in first but quickly shouted back that all the tools had gone! Seemingly on the last trip the team thought that by the time we were back from Albs this place would probably be flowing again so they dekitted. So whilst he set to work capping using a rock as a hammer (to great success I hear!) I quickly drove home to get a hammer and crowbar. After I got back Hal continued to pull out a few more buckets then Chris retreated for a break.

Hal was an ADR newb so was keen to see what the place was like. A few metres in he decided that we’re definitely shit at digging caves big enough for him so returned to the surface and let me do the next shift. I was super keen, especially as it was starting to rain. I really like digging the face, but it is currently a bit annoying as the rock is quite fractured. Not enough that you can just SDS chisel everything, but that capping sometimes does not work either. I got another drill sent to me so I could have one for chiselling and one for capping, speeding up my efficiency slightly, but I was still pretty crap. Maybe bigger tools/gear might be better here? The way on does look pretty small....

After an hour or so the guys on the surface were soaked and shouting for me to hurry up, so I got a quick bit of content and we headed to the Anchor to meet the others (yes, two teams out in one night!).
